More Doors of Safed Old City

I hadn't seen this one before. A couple of galleries moved here, which is right across from "Gan Hakasum", the Enchanted Park. When our kids were little, we used to call it "suicide park" due to rock structures and sharp inclines.

Anyway, a couple of galleries moved in, and this lovely doorway leads into a courtyard with scultpures, artwork, and a cafe. Some beautiful works of art there. Coming back out, the door is just as lovely:

This is beautiful! My wife and I are considering living in Safed when we make aliyah, but are also considering Rosh Pina. I love your blog and look forward to more posts soon!

Funny- My husband and I are looking to make aliyah next year and we too want to live in Safed. These are beautiful photos. I have a lot of fear though, that as an American, I won't be accepted.

There are a reasonable number of Americans here. The issue is really more of are you either Chassidish or Sephardi, the two of which make up the bulk of the whole population here. Not being either, sometimes I don't fit in ;).

If you're not religious, there's a nice community here, though a larger non-religious community in nearby Rosh Pinna.

The biggest issue in Tsfat is parnasa. If you're the "believe and it will all be fine" sort, be ready to be hungry and faithful. If you have a work ethic, be prepared for a shock. IDT is supposed to opening here, making it easier to get a minimum wage job for non-Hebrew speakers.

Visit www.JewishByte.com for cards with Tsfat pics on them.
